Originally described as Public/Private Partnerships and Privatization engagements, Tradewinds assisted the US Army in the structure of its first public/private real estate partnership, an initiative to redevelop the Historic Hotel Thayer on the campus of West Point. This successful effort became the catalyst and is the model for all of the Army's current public/private partnership programs to develop and redevelop billions of dollars of needed facilities around the world using private developers and facilities managers. Significant Tradewinds' projects to date include:

Government of the District of Columbia - Urban Redevelopment of Surplus Land & Closed Public School Facilities. In 1990, Tradewinds was selected to developed the District's first ever comprehensive public facilities program, a proactive plan for the management of its 14 million square feet of owned and leased space, and the disposition of over 26 closed public school buildings. Numerous urban redevelopment projects have been initiated as a result of this plan, and the Tradewinds' revisions in 1995.
NEWSEUM Headquarters - 555 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, formerly known as 500 C Street, NW, The DOES Building. Tradewinds has served as Real Estate - Public/Private Partnership Advisor to the Mayor and various agency heads within the Government of the District of Columbia in the redevelopment plan for this last significant development site on Washington's famed Pennsylvania Ave, NW;
Privatization of Hotel Thayer on the Campus of West Point. In 1990, Tradewinds was selected as the Financial Advisor to the US Army in the development of an innovative public/private (P/PV) partnership to renovate and manage the historic Hotel Thayer on the campus of West Point. This successful redevelopment effort has become, "The Model" for the structure of public/private partnerships to develop and redevelop numerous real estate facilities world wide on military bases using private sector resources;
Smart Growth Development of Two (2) METRO (Washington, DC) Mass Transit Stations. Tradewinds (in partnership with the Stout & Teague Companies), is working with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to develop Transit Oriented Developments (TODs) totaling over 6 million square feet of commercial, residential and retail space.
