Manager DCA- Total Facilities Management Group
Eric Hietala is responsible for the oversight of the day to day activities at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) at Washington's Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).
The GAT is where all private aircraft enter and are serviced coming into the Nation's Capital. By definition, the standards at Washington National are the highest in the world, and as such, the operation at DCA has been voted as "Number One" by the readers of Professional Pilot magazine every year since 1996. Three (3) of the last awards were under the leadership of Mr. Hietala. Prior to heading up the operation at DCA, Mr. Heitala served for two (2) years as its Operations Manager.
Prior to coming to Washington, Mr. Hietala served as an attorney in the Corporate Division of Howie, Longstaff and Smith in Silicon Valley, California. He also served as an Environmental Coordinator for AMR Combs, and an Operations Supervisor for Signature Flight Support at San Francisco International Airport.
Originally from San Francisco, California, Mr. Hietala holds a Juris Doctorate from the San Francisco School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) from San Francisco State University.
